Cotherstone Deerhounds
Thank you for visiting our website. Here you will find information on our Cotherstone hounds.
We have been involved in showing and breeding various breeds for over 45 years, and are currently campaigning home bred deerhounds, smooth haired dachshunds and the odd whippet.
All our dogs live indoors and are much loved members of our family.
We live on the Ayrshire coast in south west Scotland, and the dogs are regularly exercised on our lovely beaches.
All the trophies our precious Deerhounds won in 2013 and presented to us at the Deerhound Breed Show 2014 in Telford. We were delighted with Ch. Cotherstone Shot & Steel winning BEST IN SHOW
and Ch. Cotherstone Duchenne winning RESERVE BEST BITCH.
and Ch. Cotherstone Duchenne winning RESERVE BEST BITCH.

Sprout decided he wanted a day at work with his Dad in the Regalstag Leatherwork workshop.
Being a bit of a tea leaf, he had soon used up all his warnings and found himself in a fabric cage next to my work bench. This is my view! Who couldn't resist this face? He only wanted to spend a day with me as he knows I have the good biscuits and lots of coffee, both of which he loves! |
An exciting day here at Cotherstone! Leigh Morris and George Waddel kindly let Tony the whippet come to live with us here! Having one Tony (the greyhound) is fine, but two dogs called Tony is a bit complicated!
Tony 0 Crosscop Whos The Daddy at Cotherstone. Hopefully Ali will enjoy showing this handsome boy!

Huge thank you to Aileen McDonald for Flins Champion treat gift box! He was super excited, however since his father Sprout is a single parent, he felt the need to step in and help him hold his goodies!!

Flin wins his crowning CC at Driffield 2021 under breed specialist Duncan Robertson!
At the beginning of August we sadly lost our special girl Ballad, mother of the 16 litter.
It is truly heartbreaking and hit us both very hard.
This morning we received such a lovely gift from someone...don't know who, so I cannot thank you! But thank you so much! Really special and I will find a special place to scatter them!
Huge thank you to Bridget and Duncan Robertson for letting Ballad spend her last 5 years here with us, she has been a pleasure to live with and such a special girl.
In lockdown we were very lucky to have Jamie come to live with us here at Cotherstone.
Lauralee Lannister at Cotherstone - Known as Jamie - Game of Thrones!
Huge thank you to Judith and Morris Armstrong for letting Jamie come here to start learning to Scottish language!
I look forward to having much fun with Jamie and hope he has a successful showing career!
I know Tasty, Piglet and Portia are very pleased to have such a handsome boy here.
Thank you to Lorraine Martin for the pictures - 4 months old.

Just having a refresh of the website, adding other hounds and we added a health page too!
Will do my best to get it sorted quickly. One of the advantages of the current situation is having slightly more time.
Hope you are all safe and well!
